5 stuff that caught our fancy in Greenhills

That treasure trove of gadgets, V-mall in Greenhills, disappointed us a bit. While online stores like Gadget Grocery are already hawking Google's Nexus One, our friendly neighbors in Greenhills aren't quick on the draw this time. Such a shame. Good thing there are five other things that caught our fancy.

1. Nokia N900

Imagine how we felt when Nokia Philippines informed us a few months back that they might not release the N900 here in the Philippines. It looks like a real winner – it's the first device to run on the Linux-based Maemo 5 OS, which is designed with the Internet at its core. Local release or no local release, Nokia fanboys have really not much to worry about, as this phone is already available in Greenhills – at a price, of course.

2. BlackBerry Storm2 9550

So another "Storm" is brewing in Greenhills, and it's something that you would welcome with open arms. Many have said that the BlackBerry Storm2 9550 is what the original Storm should have been all along. Well, the only way to find out is to try it on for size. We could imagine BlackBerry's disciples peeing in their pants now.

3. HTC HD2

HTC's Windows Mobile 6.5-loving behemoth is quite hard to ignore. Hey, if a phone has a screen that measures 4.3 inches, you'd be hard-pressed not to stare. What's more amazing is that the HD2 has maintained its slimness despite its huge display. Quite ironic, really – and we're loving it.

4. Spy Pen AV Recorder

Is James Bond in town yet? Because we found something that only he could have dropped – a pen audio-video recorder! So be careful what you say and do; you might see yourself doing nasty things on YouTube one of these day. You don't want that, do you?

5. BioShock 2

The sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 video game BioShock is set to be released next week. And as expected, DataBlitz is now accepting pre-orders until February 9. You know the drill: Pay the deposit fee of P1,000 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions or P500 for the PC game at any DataBlitz store near you, and go back on February 10 and pay the balance to get your precious BioShock 2.
