Here's the handset's 4-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. At only 360 x 640, we really wished it had a bit more pixels. Still, it looks pretty good; the screen's bright with colors coming out just right. As for responsiveness, the touchscreen performed very decently although there was a bit of lag when switching between apps but only minimal.

Here's the right side of the device where the volume rocker and dedicated camera buttons are found. The one in the middle is the screen-lock switch. On a related note, you can actually activate the shooter even if the screen is locked. Just press and hold the camera key for about 2 seconds and the camera app will be opened.

The other side is void of any buttons or ports. In terms of size, the 808 PureView is quite chunky, no thanks to the camera housing which gives it a max thickness of 18mm. It's no lightweight either tipping the scales at 169g. However, this is not to say it's uncomfortable to hold or place in your pocket; we actually found its curvy shape to be a plus point, especially when operating the camera.

In case you didn't know, the 808 PureView runs of what is called Belle OS, the latest version of Symbian. In our test run, we found it to be pretty simple (it reminds us of MeeGo) while overall navigation is smooth. Looks like the combo of a 1.3GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM is just enough to run things seamlessly for this baby.

The various camera settings. As you can see, you can choose between 2 sensor modes: PureView and Full Resolution. In the former you can select 2MP, 5MP, or 8MP while the latter gives you the whole 41MP treatment (38MP effective).

Note: Zoom is disabled in Full Resolution mode

In terms of speed, the PureView's camera activates in about 1 second after pressing the icon while the lag time between shooting photos is very minimal which is another plus point for the device.

Of course you can also connect the device to a big screen via HDMI to enjoy your photos and videos on a larger display.

Hi Techie! In your picture #10 the comments should have been 1.3 GHz, not megapixel. It's understandable to get carried away, hehehe. ;-)

This is well worth the money, if not for the smartphone then for the camera. No P&S; at this price range can come close to both specification, portability and ease of use.

It's like Nokia giving away the camera technology to sell a smartphone. :-)
