So we've heard, Friendster has, yet again, made some significant changes. It's no longer the site that helped place social-networking into the Internet's map. It's now a social gaming site targeted to the youth, but we think you know that already.
But we're not here to discuss the "new" Friendster, we've already discussed that at length here. What we're curious about is whether or not you, yes you, have an account on the site. We're thinking that the negative, two-letter word response would take a larger piece of the pie here. Of course, we could be wrong, too. After all, SEA still has a pretty significant following, according to Friendster, the main reason why the site and its mother company MOL are focusing strongly on the region.
Forgive us if we reminisce of the recent past a bit. Truth be told, we here at Techie also have a few memories of the Friendster that helped pave the way for Facebook and the like. We still remember visiting the site to stalk our crushes check on our friends, write testimonials, even change the background of our profiles. Even though we may have caught only the tail-end of the Friendster craze, we can safely say we saw how it was like back then and how it was like Facebook, both in appeal and overall functionality.
But, enough of that, Friendster is now primarily focused on social/casual gaming and its virtual coins. Not that we're complaining; we're actually glad that it's still around, albeit in a different form. Anyway, back to the question at hand, do you currently have a Friendster account? Let us know in the poll and/or comments section below.
