This Chinese Google search page is pretty useless

You might be surprised why we chose this Google Chinese landing page this time around. After all, it's just a quaint little search portal, right? Wrong. After you're done reading this and checking the site out we bet you'll see that this one's among the most clever and interesting Easter eggs (read: online fun secrets) of the Big G.

It appears like it's just an honest, customized Google search page showing bobbing waters and undersea creatures. Try on clicking anywhere underwater and you'll see waves appearing on the surface. We have to warn you though, Google's Chinese landing page is pretty useless if you're after doing some online searches because, well, you won't get any, just images related to your search appearing out of nowhere and falling down on the search bar. Oh, if you click on "I feel lucky," gold coins will come falling from the top of the page.

As we've said, it's useless if you're trying to get more points on your online productivity meter but, you have to admit, it's pretty interesting. Why Google decided to put up the page is unknown to us but we won't be surprised if it has something to do with the search giant's spat with China in the past. In case you didn't know, the two aren't exactly BFFs, especially after Chinese government threatened to pull the plug on Google's operations in China. Or maybe we're just being a bit too serious here, maybe Google's still having a bit of April Fools' hangover.
