We had to ask Abenson Avant marketing manager Ranj Basi to repeat the price of Samsung's 3D LED TV several times, we looked like fools already. You can't blame us. P169,900 for the 40-inch TV and P199,900 for the 46-inch are too good to be true. (And with 0% installment plans for Citibank, Standard Chartered, Metrobank, Bankard, BDO, BPI, HSBC, Diners, Unionbank, and Security Bank cardholders at that.) How friggin'-sanely affordable! That's just P30,000 more than the price of your ordinary LED television. What's more, each purchase already comes with the following:
- Samsung 3D Blu-ray player (BD-C6900)
- 2 pairs of Samsung 3D glasses
- Monsters vs Aliens 3D Blu-ray disc
If this information isn't orgasmic for you, then perhaps the TV's capacity to turn any 2D media into 3D (by adding a variable degree of depth with one push of a button) will make you pee in your pants. You can enjoy the awesomeness that is Wowowee's Kembot Girls in 3D, our friend, provided you can dig deep in your pockets.
As for the local availability of full-3D media, Basi revealed to us that Samsung is planning to do an Apple and launch an app store of its own, allowing users to purchase and download 3D content straight into the TV's internal or external hard drive. Now things are definitely getting more interesting...
