'Avatar: Special Edition' hits Philippine theaters August 27th | News | Techie.com.ph

Apparently, King James Cameron isn't done milking his latest and greatest creation just yet. We've just received word from 20th Century Fox that a special edition of the highest-grossing movie of all time, Avatar, will return to Philippine theaters on August 27th.

What's so special about the new version, you may ask? To quote his majesty:

"Avatar: Special Edition will be exclusively in 3D, and will have 8 minutes of never-before-seen footage, including new creatures and action scenes. Whether you already love the movie, or you've never seen it, with this Special Edition, you'll be seeing it like never before."

Okay, so that makes it clear. The 8 minutes of extra footage are for new creatures and action scenes and not just for the unsettling sex scene (you can count on Hustler for that). Knowing that, we hope the extra footage is extra good because P400 for an IMAX ticket is extra expensive.
