Facebook is the most-visited website in the Philippines

The latest numbers from US-based marketing-research company comScore are in, and they show that Facebook is officially the king in the Philippines, as it was the most-visited site in the country last May. In fact, the Philippines' 93% Facebook penetration is the highest for any nation worldwide for the social-networking site. Google Sites was numero uno in India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam, though, while Yahoo! Sites reigned supreme in Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan.

Overall, Google Sites still led the pack in the Asia-Pacific region, which is certainly a significant one for websites, as almost half of the world's online population are in the region. Google Sites garnered 270 million unique visitors in May. Microsoft Sites and Yahoo! Sites are in second and third places with 218.5 million and 205 million visitors, respectively. Chinese titans Baidu.com and Tencent rounded out the top 5.

In terms of user engagement among the top 20 most-visited sites in the Asia-Pacific region, Chinese Web giant Tencent grabbed the top spot with visitors spending 6.5 hours on the site, viewing 716 pages and visiting 39 times on the average for the month of May.

Note: The stats do not include site access from public Internet cafes and mobile devices.
