Flash would reduce the iPad's battery life from 10 hours to a measly 1.5 – Steve Jobs

This might be the biggest reason for Flash's exclusion from the iPad: It would reduce the device's battery life from 10 hours to a disappointing 1.5 hours. This is according to the big kahuna himself, Steve Jobs. Wow, that may not even be enough for viewing Avatar.

Steve Jobs made the claim when he talked to select Wall Street Journal staff in New York, according to people who knew of the meeting. He called it a "CPU hog," a source of security holes, and even a dying technology. Ouch. That "dying technology" part? That's one of the worst insults a product could ever get.

While we're not really sure if Flash would indeed reduce the iPad's battery life to 1.5 hours, we're pretty sure of one thing: Apple putting Flash on its tablet device is next to impossible. Steve Jobs himself is heading the anti-Flash revolution.

  1. Dan C Rivera Jr: Yup, that's an insult to the Flash developers. I think that's one way of killing Apple's competitors. Crap !

  2. javalite12: This is indeed an epic fail for me. It's more like buying a big iPod Touch, I'd prefer the smaller version. X_x
