iPhone 4 screen and reception problems are mounting

Earlier, we told you guys how things are looking good for the iPhone 4 in terms of sales. Now, it's all reports of bugs that we're reading, and they're piling up like the complaints lodged against GMA. The reports, mostly from those who preordered the phone, revolved around 2 things: a yellowish discoloration on the display and its reception.

Signal loss

Apparently, there's signal loss whenever the device's metal band (which also acts as an antenna) is touched. Many of the reports show that when the iPhone 4 is held in such a way that your hand makes contact with the metal band, the signal bars quickly disappear until you get a only a bar or worse, no reception at all. See the video below.

This is a critical issue, as the way the iPhone 4 was held in the video isn't exactly a unique way of holding a handset.

So what's Apple's response to this? Check out what a tipster sent to Engadget:

Yes, people. It's not their fault. It's yours. *Sarcasm*

Yellow discoloration

On the other side of the coin, we are seeing tons of reports of discoloration found on the iPhone 4's magical highly praised Retina Display. The discoloration appears as a yellowish band in some and as a spot or spots in other iPhone 4s. This is a manufacturing problem, according to Apple technicians, but there's really no official word from Apple just yet.

Take note, however, that this isn't exactly the first time Apple had a brush with this kind of issue, as its recent iMacs also displayed pee-colored discoloration.
