Laziest way to lose weight possibly discovered

Eric Catman Fat Ass

A team of US researchers may have stumbled upon the holy grail of weight loss. They managed to find a way to lose weight with literally no effort  from your end. Note: This is not some cheesy infomercial.

The experiment involved tweaking the body's natural energy-controlling mechanism called Potassium channels or KATP. Potassium channels limit heart and muscle performance whenever they detect inactivity. A bunch of lab rats (God bless 'em) were the first to undergo the procedure, and the results looked very promising.

By tricking the body into consuming more stored energy or adenosine triphosphate (ATP) than what it actually needs, the "altered" mice came out leaner than those that were untouched. This, despite having been fed high fat Western food.

While decreased KATP activity sounds like the way to go, the procedure should be reserved to those who really need it. KATP plays an important natural role by preventing energy depletion. A moderately chubby person risks losing fuel – literally – should his or her muscle activity go into overdrive.

Clearly, the research has a long way to go before it can be used on the masses' asses. But once it makes its way to Drs. Belo and Calayan, we will be the first ones in line to try it out.
