The Philippine National Police's search for a road-rage suspect has gone online. It's about time, we say.

The PNP recently assembled a team to search the Internet for information that may lead to the capture of Jason Ivler, the main suspect in the November 18 killing of Renato Ebarle Jr., son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr. The team will be tasked to search social-networking sites, read blogs, and monitor the accounts of people close to Ivler in the efforts of gathering important information.

According to Quezon City Police Chief Insp. Benjamin Elenzano, they believe that Ivler is using the Internet to communicate with those closest to him.

Ivler, an American citizen, is the stepson of an ADB principal economist and the nephew of Freddie Aguilar. He has an outstanding warrant of arrest for another incident in 2004 which resulted to the death of then Presidential Technical Assistant for Resettlement Undersecretary Nestor Ponce Jr.
