Samsung says 'Something BIG is coming', could be the Nexus Prime

Let's take a break from all the iPhone 4S talk for a moment, shall we? Let's focus on one of Apple's chief rivals Samsung who seems to be teasing us with a promo video reportedly showing the fabled Nexus Prime. Sammy's way of stealing the thunder from the guys at Cupertino, perhaps? Check it out below.

The clip is for Samsung's Unpacked 2011 event next week which is expected to reveal goodies like the Nexus Prime. However, closer inspection shows what could already be the handset, found on the later part of the video. There you'll see a sort of silhouette of a device which also shows a few more bits including a curved display, a three-pin docking system, a power button found on probably the top edge (left-side) and a slightly-protruding camera at the back. The statement "Something BIG is coming" also points to the Nexus Prime.

This also coincides to another leaked photo of the Nexus Prime scored by GSMArena. The image is incomplete to say the least but it does yield more information specifically on the eye-candy department. It shows that the handset will have an HD Super AMOLED screen which is 4.6-inch in size and coming in at 320ppi. Building on to that, previous reports tell us the Nexus Prime will have a 1.2 - 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and LTE 4G capability and 720p video recording. And last but not the least, it's expected to be the first one to be flavored with Google's latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform. Nice!

Excited now? We sure are. We'll be looking closely at Sammy's event on the October 2011 for this one. We wonder how it will stack up to the very, very fresh iPhone 4S. Stay tuned.
