Sony to hold its first 'PlayStation event' in RP March 27

Gamers take heed. Sony Philippines has announced that they will hold their "first official PlayStation event" in the country this coming March 27-28 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.
According to the PlayStation Philippines facebook page, there will be cosplay contests, PS3 and PSP tourneys, and lots of giveaways during the two-day affair. PS3s and other PlayStation products will also be sold on site. The first 100 PS3 buyers will also discounts and premium items courtesy of Sony Philippines. Check out the official website for more details.
Now, we're not entirely sure what holding a "PlayStation event" means, but we hope that it has something to do with Sony's gaming divison making a legit presence in RP (or at least considering making a legit presence in RP). That would be cool although the posters are surprisingly cryptic making no mention of a local product launch whatsoever.
Nonetheless, allow us to be the first to greet the PlayStation a loud and proud Mabuhay! It's a ballsy move coming into a land where games and software piracy are as normal as corruption in government.
UPDATE: So they're calling it the PlayStation Philippines launch. We have a good feeling about this.
UPDATE 2: Yup, they're officially bringing in the PlayStation brand. Huzzah!
