It isn't exactly eons ago when the Samsung Galaxy S was released here in the Philippines, and now it looks as though another Galaxy phone is poised to come out of Samsung's factories – the Galaxy Q. Its specs – or so it seems – managed to slip through the cracks, giving us an idea of what it will bring to the table.
According to what is believed to be its leaked spec sheet, the Samsung Galaxy Q is a smaller version of the Galaxy S. The screen is a Super AMOLED 3-incher (720 x 480). And given its dimensions (120 x 68 x 9.25mm), we might expect the Q to come in a candy-bar form, just like a BlackBerry.
As for the guts, it's going to be powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. You'll also get 16GB of storage. The rear-facing camera got a pixel bump, making it 8 megapixels (supporting HD video recording) from the Galaxy S' 5 megapixels, and is now paired with an also-improved 1.3-megapixel front camera.
Here are the the other details of the Q (it has a nice ring to it, no? So James Bond-ish):
- Bluetooth 3.0
- Mini-HDMI port
- MicroSD card slot
- WiFi b/g/n
- A-GPS
- Micro-USB
- LED flash
- full QWERTY keyboard
- Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Other than these, no other info was revealed, not even an image. We guess we'll have to play the waiting game once again for this other Galaxy in Samsung's universe.
