Unconfirmed photo suggests iPhone 5 to have 4-inch display, thinner bezel

iPhone 5

There was no rest for everyone in the iPhone 5 rumor mill, as the "place" was still open on a weekend. An image of a part believed to be the digitizer panel for the next-gen iPhone's touchscreen showed up on a website of a Chinese reseller of Apple parts. If the picture isn't a product of a wicked, "early April Fools' Day" gimmick, then this image confirms past rumors that the iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen and a thinner bezel.

The display shouldn't be less than 4 inches, no? It seems that Apple is indeed matching the screen sizes of the current crop of Android flagship phones. And to retain the size of the iPhone 4, the display has gone "edge-to-edge" (reminds us of LG's "borderless" TVs).

Piotrek made this mock-up of what could be the next iPhone based on the leaked image:

We still can't decide what to make of it. The "iPhone 5" looks so... dainty... that we may be afraid to use the phone. There were talks of iPhone 4 screens shattering within the first 4 months, so forgive our paranoia. Then again, the topmost image may turn out to be a joke after all. We'll know in the next 3-4 months.
