USmart's MC-1 claims to be the world's smallest laptop

USmart's MC-1 laptop claims to be the smallest of its kind in the world today. Judging from its looks, it could very well be the tiniest computer ever. Unsurprisingly, it resembles a toy computer that it does a real portable PC.

However "fake" the MC-1 may look, it still is a bonafide personal computer. It packs a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory inside its miniature body. It runs Windows XP and has a resistive touchscreen display which comes with a stylus so it can actually work as an overgrown PDA.

The MC-1 lacks a built-in fan which might make it a pretty "hot item". It also measures only 4.8-inches though we're not sure if this is for the screen or for the whole body. For those with fat fingers who would want to toy around with the MC-1, an external keypad/keyboard combo is sold separately from the device.

The MC-1 will sell for $300 (about P14,000) – not that small a price for something so miniscule.

  1. 458: The looks really suffered to minimize the size. Look like a Nintendo DS without the second touchscreen.
