When Vin Diesel's badass driver alter ego Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner invaded the big screen in Fast & Furious 4, we were left gasping for air. The film felt so cramped with their larger-than-life action demigod presence filling the screen that we soon lost interest in the plot. It's a pity because the movie's story is, well, decent enough.

F&F4 revolves around FBI agent O'Conner's unlikely team-up with archenemy Toretto to bring down heroin importer Antonio Braga (John Ortiz). O'Conner, because it's his job to do so and Toretto, because he's out for the heads of those behind the mysterious murder of his girlfriend, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). As they're forced to share one enemy, they have to learn to trust each other.

Performance-wise, the stars weren't able to deliver. If it weren't for the truckloads of breathtaking stunt driving, we'd just be transfixed on our boy Vin's stoic acting skills. Hopefully, the next F&F movie (hell yeah, there's another one coming) will have even fewer talking lines for Vin. And since this flick's not meant to be analyzed, just give us more of those car chases, crashes, explosions, and yes, those tank-top-wearing, navel-exposing chicks.

If you want an instant adrenaline boost, Fast & Furious 4 is the perfect flick for you. If you're looking for more in a road movie, better stick with Little Miss Sunshine.
