RP's very own PC maker Red Fox goes sexy in the form of its new thin and light notebook the Razor XR116. Every inch proves that when it comes to laptops, less is indeed more.
The XR116 is definitely one of the better-looking PCs in Red Fox's portfolio. Its non-generic lines and curves prove that real thought had been put in the design. The glossy black and matte red finish go well together and the new menacing Red Fox logo gives it a very edgy feel.
The island-style keyboard looks a lot like the ones found in Apple's MacBooks and Sony's VAIOs. Sadly, the similarities end there. The keys on the Razor don't have enough 'give' by our reckoning thus making it feel shallow to the touch. They also wobble quite easily.
The best thing that the XR116 has going for it is its size. At just 28 millimeters thick, it easily fits into a small messenger bag. And with a heft of just a little over a kilo, it's just begging to be taken along. Portability of a netbook with the functionality of a notebook? You bet, but it does come at a price premium - P36,999 to be exact. Roughly 100% more expensive than a standard netbook.
